CAD/CAM technology
Computer-Aided Design, or CAD/CAM for short, is a technology for designing and manufacturing orthopedic structures that rely on teeth and implants – veneers, crowns, inlays, crowns based on implants and abutments for implants – using computer technologies.
The advantage of this technology is in the speed of manufacture of the structure, convenience for the doctor and the ability to model the shape of the structure individually for the patient, focusing on his anatomical features, reducing the number of stages of manufacturing the structure.
CAD/CAM technology is an improved version of the drawing board: on the computer, the doctor can perform three-dimensional modeling and design. A model created in such a system can be viewed in detail at any angle, as well as under any lighting. Thus, a specialist can create for the patient an orthopedic construction that will not yield to the “realism” of a natural tooth, since it will be modeled, taking into account all the physiological features of the patient.
Plasma lifting
We know: it sounds a bit creepy – in general, like everything that concerns a dentist’s office, but there’s absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Plasma lifting is an injection technique for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the oral cavity. First of all, this procedure is done in order to strengthen the patient’s bone tissue, normalize the metabolism, increase the level of local immunity, remove bleeding gums, reduce tooth mobility, eliminate any inflammatory process and unpleasant smell from the mouth. Also, the plasma-lifting technique is addressed during surgical interventions – tooth extraction or dental implants. Before prescribing the procedure, the doctor examines the oral cavity of the patient and determines in which areas the application of this technique is necessary.
The procedure goes like this
in the clinic, the nurse takes a patient’s blood from a vein – all the same as in laboratory tests – the whole procedure requires 10 to 30 ml depending on how many teeth (or the whole jaw) will be treatment. Then from the collected material receive plasma enriched with platelets. Enriched plasma injections are injected into areas of the oral cavity in need of treatment. At the request of the patient, especially if the person has a low pain threshold, the doctor can use local application or injection anesthesia, however, we must admit that in most cases the process causes only minor discomfort at the injection site and patients tolerate this procedure without anesthesia. Immediately, it is worth noting that these injections are completely non-toxic: the “drug” is completely organic, because it is created from the patient’s own material, which means it eliminates allergic reactions, the possibility of infection and rejection.
24 hours before the procedure it is necessary to limit the consumption of fatty and fried food, alcohol, and also to observe the drinking regime (at least one and a half liters of water per day) and limit stress. The doctor advises to undergo a course of such procedures: on average, 2-3 procedures are needed with an interval of 7-10 days, and the course can be repeated every 6-12 months.
Enamel biorevitalization
Enamel biorevitalization is a procedure in which the doctor covers the surface of the teeth (enamel) with a very thin and completely invisible film that restores, protects and strengthens it, preventing the bloom and chance to attach to the teeth and stimulate remineralization. The procedure helps to “seal” the tissues of the tooth in a healthy state, without disturbing the exchange of saliva and trace elements, and the enamel eventually receives a certain “armor”.
For patients with sensitive teeth, biorevitalization is a salvation from daily pain and unpleasant sensations: it seals the dentinal tubules and “seals” the tooth in the original state. The principle of the procedure in dentistry is similar to cosmetic biorevitalization. When specialists “preserve” the patient’s skin condition at the age at which he came to the doctor.
The appearance of caries at the initial stage will disappear after the procedure: the active substance of the serum is strong enough to restore the structure of the enamel and the lost elements. If the doctor finds a deep caries in the patient’s teeth, biorevitalization will have to be postponed until the teeth are completely cured.
Biorevitalization
is preceded by professional dental hygiene: in some clinics, the patient can watch a movie or a favorite series while the doctor is working on his teeth. At the same time, the enamel and gums are diagnosed. Already at this moment it becomes clear what procedures will help improve the condition of teeth and soft tissues. The doctor selects a suitable mask and applies the composition to the gums. This is a bit like paraffin therapy, when after a manicure and varnishing a patient is treated with a therapeutic composition. So, a cofferdam is put on the patient – a special canvas, similar to fingerless gloves, with cuts for each tooth. This is a kind of waterproofing that is necessary to prevent saliva and gingival fluid on the teeth during the procedure. Then each tooth is processed and biorevitalizing serum is applied, which is fixed with a special lamp.
Invisalign
In fact, Invisalign is an alternative method of orthodontic treatment. The result will be the same as in the treatment with a bracket system, but it is achieved by wearing transparent eliners (or, moreover, they can be called kappas). In contrast to the bracket system, in which braces are fixed to each tooth separately, aligners are made to the entire jaw.
To simulate the result of treatment with the Invisalign system, the original software from the Align Company developer is used, it is called ClinCheck and allows us to simulate the process and the result of the treatment before it starts. It looks like a movie, which shows how the teeth will move at each stage and what result we will get at the end of the treatment. After treatment with the Invisalign system, as well as after standard orthodontic treatment, a retentional – “fixing” – period is necessary. The teeth are fixed with a special holding material – retainer. It fixes them in a new position and does not allow them to return to their original position.
The period of orthodontic treatment with the help of the aligners is determined individually, depending on the diagnosis and the desired result. Usually, treatment can take a year and a half.
